SIPPY HAT

This was a speculative design project that I did in class. When brainstorming for this project, I had a lot of trouble not sending my brain to the absolute worst possible scenario for the future. I think it is just a side effect of being young in a world constantly crashing and burning around me. Everything I thought about possibly doing for this speculative design object followed this mindset. It was for this reason that I decided to go very far into the future rather than the near future. It’s been discussed for years now the possibility of expanding to mars or the moon or anywhere else in space. I decided to design my object to be based in this idea. The problem I invented for this time was the problem of eating or drinking while we go by spaceship to and from space. I assume we will have fast food restaurants in space, so I decided to make a gimmicky objected meant to solve the problem of drinking liquids in 0 gravity, as well as during the crazy amount of turbulence one must experience to get to space. 

I invented the Sippy Hat to solve this problem. The Sippy Hat is a double lined astronaut helmet. You put your liquid — soup, Diet Coke, water, some other future space fluid — in-between these two walls. There is a port with a straw on the interior of the hat so that you can sip away at your liquid of choice.
