UNWELL

This was a typography based assignment where we would use a lot of repetitive units to replicate a typeface and a single word. A small object I have a lot of are pills. I created this piece as the ADHD medication shortage was steamrolling every aspect of my life. As a chronically ill person, it feels as though every doctor's visit I end up with a new prescription. On top of that, I am constantly using painkillers just to get through everyday life. In general, I am unwell. This was a humorous approach to show how much of my life is dictated by medications, side effects, withdrawals, and big pharma. 

I created the blueprint for this piece in Adobe Illustrator, typed the word in my chosen typeface, and then put a ton of tiny circles inside it. This became my guide. I then made my desk unusable by putting a black sweater on it and very carefully placed each and every pill until it was a perfect replication of the typeface.
